About the Course

The Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Safe Use of an Automated External Defibrillator qualification is to enable you to be able to administer cardio pulmonary resuscitation, including the safe use of an automated external defibrillator as both a team leader and single operator.


This qualification is suitable for learners from a variety of industries and employment situations who work within a building where an AED is present and are required to be trained in its use as per the HSE recommendation. It is also suitable for learners who wish to learn an essential lifesaving skill for personal interest and development.


PRE-REQUISITES

  • Learners must be 16 years of age or above on the first day of the course. It is advisable that learners have a minimum of level 1 in literacy or numeracy or equivalent.

  • Learners must be able to kneel on the floor to demonstrate CPR.


Learners must have all pre-requisites in place before the start of the course. Qualification certificates cannot be issued if all pre-requisites are not met before the start of the course, post course submissions will not be accepted.
