About the Course
Aquatic tutor status grants those with the appropriate pre-requisites the ability to deliver and assess Safety Training Award’s aquatic qualifications within their specific discipline.
On this course you will learn about the roles, responsibilities and expectations of a tutor, the roles, responsibilities and expectations of an assessor, aquatic qualifications requirements, standards for delivery, assessing and paperwork, awarding organisation requirements and expectations, demonstrating the ability to deliver technical theory topics in the chosen discipline and how to organise and deliver an aquatic course.
PRE-REQUISITES
Be at least 19 years of age
Hold current membership of STA
Hold a minimum of the Level 3 Award in Education and Training qualification or acceptable equivalent
Hold a valid aquatic teaching qualification in the chosen discipline for a minimum of 2 years (for acceptable equivalents, please contact STA):
STA Certificate in Teaching Swimming
Baby & Pre-School Swimming
People with Disabilities
Provide evidence of at least 200 hours of teaching experience in the chosen discipline
Hold the Safeguarding Children, Young People and Vulnerable Adults online learning certificate or acceptable equivalent
Learners must have all pre-requisites in place before the start of the course. Qualification certificates cannot be issued if all pre-requisites are not met before the start of the course, post course submissions will not be accepted.
